Long time no blog/Nail Kit

Hello everyone! I am so sorry that it has been so long since I have blogged and I am going to change that right now. I suppose it is harder than it may seem sometimes to keep with a blog and to keep posting new and interesting content. After a long hiatus though I am willing to give this another go.

I wanted to start off my showing you a neat idea my mom and I found while browsing Pinterest around the holidays last December. We decided to make a nail kit to give a cousin for Christmas. The first jar we bought was to small since we got carried away with all of the items we purchase to include in her gift. It turned out really cute and she loved it!

We added some rub ons to decorate the outside and made a rosette for the top.

Fabric Yo-Yo Headbands Part 1

As you may have figured out from reading this blog, I love adding fabric yo yos to things. A while ago I decided to make some headbands with them. So, I made some fabric yo yos and then we tracked down some headbands with teeth in them. We found a bunch of satin, tulle, netting, ect. on sale after Halloween. So, we were able to get a bunch of small pieces of materials reasonable priced. :D Here's how the first three turned out. I love my new Christmas headband. It is so festive! I think all 3 turned out nice-The one with the purple and green tulle was a Christmas present for one of my cousins. :)

Felt Ornaments!!

Time sure flies! I can't believe Christmas is only a few days away. And as usual I have procrastinated and have several things to do before the 25th. I need to make and send my cards, finish making a present, finish my shopping, and probably a couple other things I can't recall right now. lol! As part of my gift giving I decided to make some felt ornaments and must admit I got a bit carried away.

I made owls, gingerbread people, vintage ornaments, trees, pieces of bacon, and one bacon reindeer. :) Here's a list of resources I used. Please note that some of the patterns were shrunk to a smaller size.

More new fishies!

I got some great bright colored fleece when it was on sale. I love how these two new patterns look on my dead fishies! And it was nice to buy off the rolls rather than just out of the remnant bin. :)

Yo-Yo Magnets

I make these using my smallest clover yo-yo maker, buttons, and fabric scraps. Sometimes I use small scraps from other projects or else I use fabric from decorator's samples books. And then I repurpose even more by using used canning jar lids to hold sets of 5.
