Magazine Bows

Since I have a bunch of magazines that I don't want sitting around I decided that maybe I could re-purpose them. Off to Google I went and did a search for craft projects using magazine pages. Settling on making some bows out of them for starters I went to work on some. As you can see I got a little carried away. Christmas Cards Ornament

I found a wonderful tutorial on making an ornament out of Christmas cards on the scoutiegirl blog. You can find it here: Holiday Keepsake Ornament Tutorial , It is a great craft to make with any cards you get. I love the idea of repurposing cards instead of having to throw the whole thing away after the holidays are over. So, after I found this tutorial a few weeks before Christmas I eagerly awaited the arrival of our holiday cards so I could make one. The only thing I need to buy was the punch for this project-so I took a 50% off coupon to the craft store and picked up a 1 1/2 inch circle punch. Since it is a basic circle punch I was suprised I didn't already have one in my ever growing scrap book/ card making supplies. Fabric Coiled Bowl

Christmas will be here before we know it so I decided that it was time to start working on some fun gifts. I have been meaning to try to make fabric coiled bowls for a while now. I finally roped my mom into attempting them with me-I don't know how to use a sewing machine yet. I will have to get my mom to teach me how some time. :) Until then we can just do collaborations. Door Hanger Cat Toys

I finished these and the maple tree coasters just in time for Artsfest. They will be at The HodgePodgery's stand which will be right by the Walnut St Bridge in the free part. :)

One of my birthday gifts was a gift certificate to The HodgePodgery in Harrisburg, PA. My mom and I consign things here as well as sell things on Etsy. They sell all kinds of Recycled, Re purposed & Handmade Whatnots made by local artisans. This shop has a huge variety of wonderful things for sale. I highly recommend checking out this fantastic shop if your in the area. Since there are so many things to choose from and I am also so indecisive it took me a while to decide what to spend my gift certificate on. And I ended up spending money from our account too.
