Cat Toys On Sticks

The Cat Toy on A Stick is made from hand carved and hand sanded sticks, catnip toys made with fabric scraps, and elastic. I came up these as an alternative to the similar cat toys you find like these at pet stores on plastic sticks. These are a lot more eco-friendly too. Happy Earth Day! :)

Seedlings Update

The good news is that every type of seed I planted managed to sprout seedlings. And the bad news is that after a while of growing quite nicely they up and died. They just fell right over and shriveled up. I have decided that I better read up on growing seeds before another attempt at growing some. I was looking forward to eating the spinach and micro-greens, perhaps next year. Does anyone have any tips on growing seeds?

The seedlings pictured are the same two types pictured a few day apart.

Planting Seeds

Unfortunately the sweet basil that I planted from the seeds I received in a box of Triscuits didn't survive. I should have put the pot up high where one of the cats couldn't get to it. I had been thinking about getting some seeds and starting over, when my mom came home with a herb garden starter kit. So, I decided why not give it another go. So far 5 out of 6 different herbs are growing nicely. The only one that isn't growing yet it the parsley. The sweet basil, sage, oregano, dill, and chives are growing nicely. I received some more seeds for Easter. These were baby's breath, cornflower, sunflowers, tomatoes, and zinnias. So far out of these the baby's breath, cornflower, and sunflowers are growing.
And then I decided that even though I had a lot of seeds to plant as it was to get even more seeds. So I picked out some seeds at Target-micro greens (rainbow blend), spinach, and scabiosa (summer berries mix). Out of these the only one that has sprout seedlings so far is the micro-greens. I am having fun watching my plants grow and hopefully the ones that haven't sprouted yet will do so soon. :) Anyone else growing some seeds? How are yours doing?
